Deb was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. The food stops were outstanding as was the information that Deb shared. I'm from Cincinnati, OH and this was my first time in Lancaster. I didn't realize the depth of the role Lancaster has played in our country's history nor how many of its residents contributed to history and to business of America! The proprietors of each food stop were very friendly and I as mentioned the food was great. A personal side note...I was a former investigator and compliance officer. I learned that separating truth from opinion required at least three sources. I was thrilled to learn that Deb emphasized that every fact she shared had a least three sources and she always noted when she was giving her ideas versus an historical fact. I highly recommend her tour.

Debbie S. was wonderful. The tour was well organized. The historic storytelling was well researched. The food tastings were delicious and sometimes adventurous. This is a beautiful downtown and this tour is a great way to appreciate all that it offers.

We had so many samples the we couldn’t finish them all. The variety of choices were amazing….a great choice for a food tour.

A good food tour is like a finely choreographed dance. In contrast, this tour was erratic. In other food tours, we spent time comfortably at each stop. However, most of this tour was spent standing and some of the stops were questionable. For example, we spent a lot of time talking about a time capsule in one building that local authorities were denying. Why? According to the description, we were supposed to spend a significant amount of time at the Lancaster Central Market. I would have like to spend more time in the market. Instead, we went to one counter, got a piece of cheese, a piece of bologna some nuts, and left. We had a larger group so maybe that was part of the issue but still, some additional planning would be beneficial. We were only able to sit inside ONE restaurant. To be fair, we did have a table outside of Lancaster farmers market and one in front of a fried chicken restaurant but it wasn't very comfortable. There were some benches/chairs at some of the other locations but not enough for everyone. My other issue was that several of the food stops involved communal food, which I really wasn't comfortable with given the increase in COVID in the area. For example, two containers of chicken strips were shared with the group. I would have preferred individual servings for all food choices. Overall, I enjoyed the stories and enthusiasm but I wasn't a fan of the execution.

First thing you should do in Downtown Lancaster is take this tour. All prior reviews are 100% correct. The food stops were all excellent but Deb’s stories, details and breezy delivery were the best part. Learned and ate much more than expected. Memorable experience.
