This was a great tour! If you're looking for a nice, relaxing time where you get to tastes a wide variety of craft beers without having to drive or get a ride, this is it! From pick up to drop off at the Hard Rock Casino, everyone (including a bachelorette party) on the bus was having a great time and the four bars we went to were very different just like the flavors of beer we tasted. The only thing I would say I wish would have happened was an explanation of the beer making process and even a tour behind the scenes. Other than that, this tour was a lot of fun!
After being greeted by our tour guide on a 90 degree day and getting loaded up on a non-air conditioned bus we were on our way. We were told another bus would be coming to replace that one somewhere along our five hour journey, but that never happened. Not to fuss, but with pollen count being super high that day my allergies were a hot mess. We visited four breweries that have some great beers, except we were primarily only served sours and light options with two dark beers. There were 12 tastings in total. There wasn’t enough variety served, and we thought our tour guide was catering to the larger group that booked. We also purchased a shirt with our booking, asked about it at the end of the tour and still...crickets. This was a bummer for my husband and I who truly love a variety of craft beers and would have preferred a balance of light and dark.
We had a great driver who gave us great information and recommendations but also took into account our requests. We would have never been able to travel to (or even know about) the breweries we went to, and we will certainly be making trips back to them! This was our 2nd time on the brew bus and for sure we will be booking future tours!
Took a tour on 9/19 - Fretboard/Sonder/16lot/third eye. Jared was a great host - laud back tour, to schedule, beer selections represented a large variety. 4 groups on our tour became one, the gemutlichiet was that good. Outdoor or spaced far away from others.
It was a little different - thanks COVID - but the Brew Bus Tour is back and running on all cylinders. This was my 5th tour and is an annual Father's Day present from my kids. I don't want anything else - ever. We went to four breweries (Darkness, Dead Low, Northern Row and Weidemann's) in an airport bus and it was great. It was just family this time - no sharing with "strangers" (who don't stay that way) because of COVID restrictions. No tours of the breweries either this time, but we sat outside in three of the four venues and had a good variety of beers at each establishment. Brian, our driver, was chill, understanding right away that we were experienced and didn't need the History of Brewing that most tours provide. He did give us a few crib notes, and they were appreciated. Highly recommend this tour but I do look forward to the day when COVID is gone, we can win a koozie on the bus and be the first to answer the "What does IBU mean?" question.
The tour around Cincinnati/Newport breweries was amazing! We booked a private bus tour for a bachelorette party of 10 and there was plenty of room on the bus. Our tour guide Mike had great knowledge of craft beer including how to go about tasting beer correctly, fun facts about Cincinnati’s beer industry, and how each of the kinds of beers are made, such as the why the beer has a specific color. He was able to choose beers that everyone would like along with a few surprises, like a fun tequila barrel aged beer, that no one would be brave enough to try without help. The tastings at each of the breweries were large and the Servatii’s pretzel to much on just top it all. I would highly recommend this tour and it is super easy to book a tour with Mike. Next time we’ll be trying out the Winery tour!
We had a small group of 9. We did our tour during this Covid pandemic for a bridal shower. They took our temps before getting on the bus and we wore masks into the breweries. Once seated at our table we were able to remove our masks. We visited Humble Monk Brewing, Dead Low Brewing and Wooden Cask Brewing. All were great breweries. We stayed with our group the whole time and felt very safe with social distancing. I would highly recommend this tour. Everyone had a great time!
